..::Glitz 'n Glamour::.. Shiseido 'Ibuki' Gentle Cleanser Review

Hi, everyone! Today is all about skin. I bought some stuff from Sephora, and lucky me-- I got a sample of Shiseido 'Ibuki' gentle cleanser! I am always looking for a good cleanser. Most of the time, when I think I have found one that works for me, it ends up stripping all the oil from my face, leaving me way too dry. Or, it makes me oilier than I already was in the first place. Well, lucky me for getting the Shiseido gentle cleanser, because it has not done either of those things-- and I have been using it for a week now!

Now, let me tell you a little about it. The website reads: “A purifying cleanser that contains micro-granules, for a gentle exfoliating effect. Lathers quickly into a rich foam, to remove harmful excess sebum and impurities without stripping away skin’s essential moisture.” This cleanser goes for $30.00 on the Shiseido website.  I only got the sample of this product since it was just an extra that I received in my order. The sample size is 30mL or 1 fl oz. The 'Ibuki' gentle cleanser, is VERY thick when I put it on. It only takes a little of the product, you don't need to use a lot. I was actually surprised at how thick it was with the amount that I used.

When I started to rub it in, it did not lose its thickness, which in my opinion is a good thing because I feel it is really going to work. I DON'T like those cleansers that are runny and don’t lather on my face. This cleanser turns foamy like the website says. I really worked it into my face, until I was satisfied. Then, I rinsed my face off, and it felt REALLY clean! I didn’t feel like my face was dry, or stripped of the natural oils, or oily like I needed to wash my face again.

The Shiseido 'Ibuki' Cleanser is not greasy at all, but it is thick and moisturizing (which is a good thing!). It was very gentle on my face, and it did not leave my face red or splotchy after using it. I do believe it helped with my complexion because I was having some break-outs that came up on my chin area, and it seems to have cleared that up within a week. OH, let me talk about the fragrance of this cleanser! It smells AMAZING! I am big on smells, and if it doesn’t smell good-- I probably won’t use it. In all honesty, I was actually kind of weary to use it only because I have used other Shiseido products, and other than them smelling good, I couldn't really see a difference with my skin. I was pleasantly surprised with the Shiseido 'Ibuki' gentle cleanser. I LOVE the smell, and the way it made my skin look and feel. I will now be looking into more Shiseido products, and buying the full-size gentle cleanser! LOVE IT!

..::Product Review::.. JumpStart 180

My Review of JumpStart 180

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"This is an 8 Week Low Impact Exercise System (created by a doctor of physical therapy) is specifically designed for men and women 50+ who are beginners to exercise. They may also be in pain, recovering from surgery, need to be more active, need to improve their balance, get strong, be more flexible and MUCH MORE! Review…

I was sent the JumpStart 180 Workout System from JumpStart 180 to review.

This workout system costs $99.99.  Shipping is free.

Packaging & Presentation of JumpStart 180

The workout system arrived in great condition.  There were no dents, defects, nor issues during shipment.  The package included the (4) DVD set, and a workbook. The DVD comes in a larger-than-average case, measuring 6.5" x 5.5" at its widest points.  The workbook measures 9.0" x 6.0" at its widest points.

The DVD case comes sealed so you know it hasn't been tampered with.

The front of the case labels what it is.  It describes it as being a "Low Impact Workout System for Men and Women".  The back of the case shows a few pictures of what you can expect.  The workouts are listed on the case.  There is also a biography of Dr. Siobhan France (the creator of this program).

The title is also listed on the side of the case; it makes for easy storage.

Unlike other DVD cases, this one has a soft interior.  Each DVD is cushioned.  There is a binder inside, so you can actually flip the DVD's to grab the workout that you want.  Each DVD is placed into a slide-pocket.

My Personal Experience with JumpStart 180

There are so many (and too many!) reasons why somebody would need to consider a low impact workout.  Medical reasons, age, amateurs, etc. all can benefit from a program such as this.  Every workout that is possible is incorporated into this system.

I really like the workbook.  This is an easy way to keep track of progress (which I find to be the biggest thing I keep track of).  The workbook also discusses how to start the program, how to check your heart rate, how to determine your physical activity readiness level, personal goals, and a workout calendar.

There are (4) DVD's, but each DVD contains more than one workout.  You have to check the calendar provided in the workbook to find which workout you have to do for that day.  The first DVD has the Upper Body Revolution and the Upper Body Activated workouts.  Disc 2 holds the Core and Balance Fuel and Total Body Adrenaline workouts.

The third disc is for your lower body.  This has the Lower Body Supercharge and Lower Body Blast workouts.  Lastly, the fourth DVD has Cardio Jump Start and Advanced Exercises and FAQ's.

Pros of JumpStart 180
  • Reach your goals by using the progress tracker.
  • Each workout is low impact.
  • Anybody, of any age, can complete these workouts.
  • There is a variety.  You aren't doing the same thing over and over.
  • This is actually fun, and I look forward to it.
        Cons of JumpStart 180
        • I felt the sound quality wasn't the greatest during some instruction.
              Summary

I wouldn't call this an easy workout, but it is great to get moving at such a decent pace.  I follow along, and learn the movements easily.  My husband has a bad foot, and these workouts are perfect for him because he feels he gets in shape without hurting his foot further.  The motions are great for everybody, and it's motivational.  I love the calendar, and it keeps me going!

..::Product Review::.. CLD Brand's Pet Grooming Brush

My Review of CLD Brand's Pet Grooming Brush

              What is it exactly?

                   From the website. . .

              Review…

I was sent the Deluxe Pet Brush from CLD Brands to review.

This brush costs $9.99.  Shipping is free with Amazon Prime.

Packaging & Presentation of CLD Brand's Pet Grooming Brush

The brush arrived in okay condition.  There were no dents in the actual brush, but (5) of the metal bristles were somewhat distorted during shipment.  It does not really affect how the brush works, but I think the packaging could have been a bit better.  The package is see-through with a tag stapled to the top of the bag.  There is no product information included with this brush.  The brush measures almost 6.50" tall and 4.0" wide at its widest points.

The front of the tag labels the product and brand.  The tag is mainly black, and there is a picture of a puppy on front.  The tag is staple to the bag.

The back of the tag looks identical to the front, except it is in black and white.  The distribution information is listed here as well.  This brush was made in the USA.

My Personal Experience with CLD Brand's Pet Grooming Brush

I've never had a dog of which I was required to groom (either at home or at the groomer).  I've used pet brushes in the past, but they were the soft bristle type.  What was exciting to me about this particular brush is that it is made out of wood, and the bristles are more stiff, so the dog actually gets scratched as they are getting brushed.

First, I would like to talk about the handle.  Unlike other brushes, this handle goes all the way through the head of the brush.  The attachment is made of metal, and it hasn't budged.

There are two little metal caps on top that keep the brush handle together.

There is a piece of soft plastic that is connected to the wood to keep the dog's hair from getting caught/splintered on the brush head.  The bristles are held to the brush in a rubber piece (the brightly colored red one).

Each bristle is metal and measure 0.75" tall.

I was able to try this brush on two different dogs in order to get each dog's reaction.

Markie, the dog on the left, did not enjoy the brush.  She is only 9 weeks old, though.  Maybe she'll enjoy it as she grows older.  She seemed scared of it, and as soon as it touched her, she ran away.

Mia, the dog on the right, is my parent's dog.  She is 2 years old, and she absolutely LOVED this brush.  She sat there, and practically fell asleep as she was being brushed.

Pros of CLD Brand's Pet Grooming Brush
              • Made from wood and stainless steel.
              • Has plenty of bristles that cover a wider area of your pet.
              • The bristles are 0.75" tall, allowing for easier grooming of long-haired dogs.
Cons of CLD Brand's Pet Grooming Brush
                    • The packaging was not great for this brush.  (5) of the bristles were bent upon arrival.
                          Summary

I'm pretty happy with this brush.  For the price, you get a well-made brush that will last a long time.  The packaging could have been better, and I recommend that they ship the brush in a box rather than a bag to avoid the bristles from being smashed.  Lastly, not every dog is going to enjoy it.  There were 2 dogs here to test this brush on, and it only had a 50% success rate between the two.  I would definitely check it out if you are in the market for this type of brush.
