My Review of Sun 'n Fun Broad Spectrum SPF30 Sunscreen for Kids

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"It is not just a baby sun screen, it's a state of the art skin care pampering treatment -  with sun screen.  Water resistant.  It's been designed with delicate and sensitive baby's skin in mind and addresses not only protection from the harmful UVA and UVB sun rays but also helps to care for dry skin and eczema while hydrating and soothing.  PABA-Free, chemical-free mineral based (NON-NANO) hydrating and moisturizing Sunblock SPF30+ provides high UV protection for your baby.  Organic Marshmallow, Grapeseed and Raspberry rich with vitamin C and antioxidants fights skin damage and cellular oxidation ( that are causes of aging.  Yes, aging starts the day we are born), caused by excessive free radical activity.  It also contains excellent anti-irritant and anti-inflammatory properties. Green tea, thought to be 200 times more powerful than vitamin E for neutralizing free radicals and has a protective role to play here as well.  Kelp and Cucumber contain abundant non-essential and essential amino acids and are highly moisturizing, soothing and hydrating.  Rosehip oil, rich in Omega-3,6 and 9 Fatty Acids, Vitamins C, E, and Lycopene promotes healing and nourishing, leaving skin glowing and healthy looking.  Tamanu oil contributes to the formula with it's strong anti-inflammatory properties and helps with dry skin and eczema.  Combination of Cocoa and a hint of Vanilla create that yummy chocolate scent, that's achieved naturally, as well as have moisturizing and healing properties. This product was created for our tiny friends but our grown-up friends can use it too. "

Review…

I was a sent a 3.3 oz tube of the Sun 'n Fun Sunscreen from Sweetsation Therapy to review.

The price for this bottle is $17.00 plus $2.48 shipping.

Packaging & Presentation of Sun 'n Fun Broad Spectrum SPF30 Sunscreen for Kids

This tube arrived safely to my house.  It was packaged really well, and there were no leaks, defects, or issues during shipment.  The tube is a flip-top, and it is orange and white with colorful accents.  It stands 5.75" x 2.25" at its widest points.  It was double wrapped when I received it-- the first layer being protective bubble wrap, and the second layer was tissue paper.  The presentation was nice, and says a lot about the company.

The front of the tubelabels the product and brand.  It has the word 'kids' in alphabet blocks, so you won't get this one confused!  It specifies that it is SPF30, water resistant for 80 minutes, and is chocolate scented.  The back of the tube is where all the information is.  The drug facts, warnings, directions, inactive ingredients, and contact information.  This product is made in the United States.

The cap is a flip-top, which makes it easy for application.  You don't have to fuss with those pesky screw-on caps.

The safety seal is a small piece of foil that covers the tube's opening.  It's easy to peel off.  Make sure you peel this off before you attempt to use this sunscreen.

My Personal Experience with Sun 'n Fun Broad Spectrum SPF30 Sunscreen for Kids

It's getting warmer (where I live, anyway), and before you know it, it'll be those 'too-hot' days.  Your little ones are going to beg to go outside, and of course you'll want them to burn off some of that energy.  Now is the time to test out sunscreen.  Not when you need it.  I was excited to review this sunscreen for two reasons-- the first being that I've tried other products from Sweetsation Therapy, and they've never failed me yet.  The second is because this sunscreen supposedly smells like chocolate, and I have a chocolate problem.

With that being said, I figured this sunscreen was going to be brown.  Nope.  It's a really light tan-purplish color.  It has a medium thickness to it, nothing extreme.  But guess what?  It definitely smells like chocolate.  It smells great!  It's a very light smell, not overpowering at all.

I put a little on my hand to test it out.  It goes on very light-colored, and that's kind of a good thing, so you know where you applied it.  It doesn't absorb really easily, but if you apply it in circles, it'll go into the skin quite nicely.  It's not greasy, but you definitely know it's on there.  It also leaves a little bit of a sheen.

I wanted to put some on my son, to see how he liked it.  First, he loved the smell.  That's a good thing.  Most kids don't want to be bothered with sunscreen, so the fact that it does smell like chocolate will make it easier for them to ask for it.  He actually liked to apply it himself, and that was a first!

Pros of Sun 'n Fun Broad Spectrum SPF30 Sunscreen for Kids
  • Bright packaging-- won't get lost in your beach bag/purse.
  • Water resistant for 80 minutes.
  • Broad spectrum UVA & UVB.
  • Smells like chocolate!
  • Made by a company that continually produces quality products.
Cons of Sun 'n Fun Broad Spectrum SPF30 Sunscreen for Kids
  • The tube isn't huge.  I wish the tube would be bigger.
        Summary

I don't even know where to start!  First, the tube itself is just adorable.  It is very bright, so you won't lose it in your bag.  The fragrance is extremely kid-friendly (and even adult-friendly!).  I love the little bit of sheen that you get after application.  It lasts quite some time, even after you get into the water.  This is a great sunscreen, and one I am actually looking forward for my kids to use!  This is such a great product, and I recommend checking it out.

I will have to get some and try it out on my kids. My one son has autism and he is very touchy about the way things smell. I am always looking for things that will work for all of them.
