My Review of Compressions

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"Great for running, walking, cycling, traveling, weight lifting, crossfit, baseball, basketball.
Compressions will offer stabilization of the calf muscle to reduce pain, swelling, and cramping by increasing circulation and reducing fatigue."

Review…

I was sent a black pair from Compressions to review.

The price for a pair is $19.95, and they ship free with Amazon Prime.

Packaging & Presentation of
Compressions

The pair of Compressions that I received was sent to me in an easy-open plastic bag.  The package contained the compressions themselves along with a card with warnings and care instructions.

The Compressions were folded nicely, and they fit calf sizes 12-16".

The Compressions are 88% nylon and 12% spandex.  They are held together with a small clip.

My Personal Experience with Compressions

I've seen people wear these a lot, and I have always wondered how they would perform.  I love running, so I figured I'd give these a shot.  They didn't come with a 'how to wear them' card, so I just put them over my calves and put socks around the bottom.

These are great for running, and so much more.  I am prone to shin splints, and with a pressure of 20-25 mmHg, it helps support my legs during running and recovery afterwards.

You can wear these with shorts or pants.  I wore pants with these since it was kind of chilly this evening.  They are really tight, and you can't see them under your pants.

Pros of Compressions
  • Great for a variation of activities.
  • Made from breathable material-- keeps your calves warm, though!
  • Fits calf sizes 12-16"
  • Anti-itch!
  • Retains elasticity after washing.
Cons of Compressions
  • I would love to see a little more information on the included card-- uses, first time users (how to put them on effectively), and the calf size.
        Summary

For my first time use, these things are awesome!  They kept my calves tight during my jog, but were not so uncomfortable that I wanted to take them off.  I really enjoy these, and after quite a few uses, the elasticity remains.
