..::Product Review::.. Nature's True Medicine Vitamin D3

My Review of Nature's True Medicine Vitamin D3

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
"Vitamin D3 is a vitamin that is critical to keeping both phosphorus and calcium in balance and being used properly. Many people do not get adequate vitamin D3 because they do not spend enough time in the sun.

Since this vitamin is so important, you want to look into vitamin D3 supplements to ensure that you are getting enough. Anthony Norman, MD, in a recent article in Endocrine Today, stated “it is now widely appreciated by vitamin D scientists that 50% of people in North America and Western Europe are vitamin D insufficient. Given that two-thirds of the people are vitamin D-insufficient or deficient. It is clear that merely eating vitamin D-rich foods is not adequate to solve the problem for most adults."

Review…

I was a sent a bottle of 120 Vitamin D3 softgels from Nature's True Medicine to review.
The price for this bottle is $14.99, and it ships free with Amazon Prime.

Packaging & Presentation of Nature's True Medicine Vitamin D3

The bottle stands approximately 3" tall.  It was shipped to me wrapped in protective bubbles, and there was no damage to the bottle when I received it.  The front of the bottle labels the product, and gives imperative information such as, '2,000 IU, GMO-free, 120 ct'

On one side of the label you can find detailed supplement facts, ingredients (both of the supplement and the shell), and company contact information.

On the other side, the label describes the recommended usage, warnings associated with the product, and that there are NO artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, preservatives, sugar, starch, milk, lactose, gluten, wheat, yeast, fish, or sodium.

The bottom of the bottle has the lot number and the expiration date printed on it.

The bottle is sealed with a plastic safety seal.  There is a small perforated strip for easy opening.

My Personal Experience with Nature's True Medicine Vitamin D3

Until recently, I never really knew that Vitamin D3 was so important.  It's crazy to read that so many people are deficient in the vitamin.

If you are deficient, you will notice some symptoms.

 + General aches & pains
+ Fatigue
+ Weakness
+ Bone Pain
+ Frequent Infections

The first thing I did was open the outer safety seal, and unscrewed the cap.  At this point, I was then presented with yet another safety seal.  To me, this is important.  I want to know that the supplements that I take are protected.

When I opened the seal, I found lots of little gel capsules.  They are a little golden looking, and they are tiny.

Here is the size relative to a quarter.

Pros of Nature's True Medicine Vitamin D3
  • You only have to take one softgel per day.
  • This is a high dosage, it's more D3 than its competitors.
  • There are 120 softgels, this bottle will last you a long time.
  • They are easy to swallow and do not have a taste.

Cons of Nature's True Medicine Vitamin D3
    • This product does contain gelatin (not vegetarian).
          Summary

It takes a while to build your D3 up, so the effects are not immediate.  What I do want to focus on is the quality of this particular brand.  They give you a lot of capsules for your money.  The bottle is protected with two safety seals.  I feel like I am pretty deficient in D3 myself, so I'm looking forward to increasing my amount.

@Jade Graham ... While I can agree that there are some manufacturers that make awful, awful products and pass them on to their customers for a quick buck, I stand by my review for this one. I think D3 is an important supplement, even if a smaller amount is actually absorbed. I think it is important to research any product that you are going to put in your body so you don't get ripped off!
