..::Product Review::.. Mission Belt Co.

My Review of Mission Belt Co.

What is it exactly?

     From the website. . .
" Mission Belt Co--the unique and revolutionary no-holes leather belt
company that gives back.  We wear belts everyday and yet they
still remain an afterthought lost in the world of accessories. Mission
Belt Co is concerned solely about belts. Not only do the belts look
great, fit perfect, but on top of everything, when you buy a Mission
Belt you are also becoming a part of a great philanthropic effort or
as we like to call it, “The Mission.” Here at Mission Belt Co, we
don’t just want our customers to look good - we want them to feel good
too. That’s why a dollar from every belt sold goes to fight global
hunger and poverty. To date, over 8,500 Kiva (peer-to-peer micro
lending) micro-loans have been funded from the sales of Mission Belts."

Review…

This belt was provided for this post as

part of an opportunity with The Brand Connection.

I was sent the Vader 35 mm belt from Mission Belt Co. to review.
The price for this belt is $34.95.  Shipping begins at $4.95.

Packaging & Presentation of Mission Belt Co.

The belt arrived in a 5.5" x 5.5" x 2" white box.  The outer box was stamped Mission Belt Co., so I knew what it was without even opening it.  Inside, the belt was coiled and wrapped in a long plastic sleeve.  There was also a contact card, a discount card for future use, an owner's manual, and a silica gel packet.

After taking off the long plastic sleeve, the actual buckle is covered in a sticky protector.  The belt has a tag that explains more about the mission of the company, how the belt works, and how to re-size it.

The buckle is high quality, and on my particular belt, the outer part was black, and the part closest to my body is chrome.  You can see all the components (clasp, ratchet, magnet, and release lever) of the underside.

My Personal Experience with Mission Belt Co.

I love belts.  Especially quality belts.  Even more, quality belts made by a company that gives back.

Before I put the belt on, I explored it a little bit.  The belt is super-high quality, as you can see by the look of the leather and the stitching:

The inside of the belt is pretty awesome.  The end of one side says, "Yeah, it's leather", and the other side is imprinted with the Mission Belt Co.'s website.

To be honest, I was kind of nervous to try it on.  It looked so cool, but I've never worn a belt where the actual buckle had a system, and it came with an owner's manual!  It just added to the experience.

I planned on going shopping, and I wore some of my favorite jeans that are well worn. The belt put the entire outfit together!  My husband didn't know I had this belt, and he even complimented me on it!  It looked great.

Pros of Mission Belt Co.
  • High-quality belt.  This belt will last a long time, if not forever.
  • This belt can be re-sized if you need it to be smaller.  Re-sizing instructions are included.
  • When you buy a Mission Belt, you are helping them fight hunger and poverty worldwide.
  • You can buy separate buckles if you want to change it up.
  • There are SO many different belts to choose from.  One for everybody!
Cons of Mission Belt Co.
  • There is a little bit of a learning curve when you try to take the belt off.  Even following the directions, it took me an extra few minutes to learn how to do it.
        Summary

I LOVE my Mission Belt, and I am definitely going to order more colors.  I ordered a black one to start with because it is pretty universal, but now I know how much I love it!  The price point is great-- it's a little higher, but definitely on the lower range of such a high quality belt.  Whenever I find a company that has a mission, especially one that I find imperative to society, I support it. This company is wonderful, and I highly, highly recommend purchasing from them.
